Bill promotes custody resolution

As printed in the Harrisburg Patriot News on Nov. 19, 2006:

Child custody disputes are extremely difficult and traumatic for families. In order to promote a more rapid resolution of custody determinations, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association supported Senate Bill 845 to eliminate frivolous ethics complaints against court-appointed custody evaluators.

Frivolous complaints bog down the custody process and needlessly extend the emotional turmoil for children and families.

Rep. Glen Grell, R-Hampden Twp., and secretary of the House Judiciary Committee, supported Senate Bill 845 and helped move it forward. Recently, the House passed SB 845. I want to thank Mr. Grell for helping children and families going through the complex process of child custody.

My hope is that Gov. Ed Rendell will sign the bill into law.
